The next town hall meeting is tentatively scheduled for February 28, 2019, at the Barnhill Center on 111W. Main St., Brenham, TX 77833. More details to come after we confirm reservations at a larger venue.
The City of Brenham is hosting a Public Input Meeting to collect citizen, business, and property owner input in relation to the City's Comprehensive Plan and Thoroughfare Plan.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 10th, 2019 from 5:15-7:00 pm at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library (100 Martin Luther King, Jr Pkwy). Light refreshments will be served.
The Comprehensive Plan is a long-range planning document which will identify and prioritize the City's needs and goals for the next twenty years. The plan will examine the needs of the community holistically to ensure that land uses are supported by infrastructure and facilities. The current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in November 2008 with the help of the Lower Colorado River Authority.
On September 20, 2018, the City Council approved a professional services agreement with Planning Consultant, Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) for the purposes of developing a Comprehensive Plan update. The Comprehensive Plan process includes a large public input component. Citizens, local businesses, local elected and appointed officials, and all community stakeholders are strongly encouraged to participate in the 12-month planning process. KKC has expertise in developing long-range planning documents and is familiar with best practices to encourage and facilitate public participation for the project.
The Town Hall meeting will be facilitated by KKC and will begin with a brief update on the project status followed by a variety of interactive and hands-on activities. Door prizes will be offered to participants.
