City Names Williams as Interim Fire Chief
Today, October 4, 2021, Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal Roger Williams was named Interim Fire Chief for the Brenham Fire Department. Interim City Manager, Carolyn Miller states, "Roger joined our community in 2019, and has brought professionalism and leadership to the Fire Marshal's office." She continued, "I'm confident he can transition to the Interim Fire Chief role and bring the same exceptional qualities to the position."
Williams joined the department in September 2019 serving as the Interim Fire Marshal through Strategic Government Resources and accepted a full-time position with the department in February 2020 as an Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Marshal. "The words honored and humbled do not begin to describe my heartfelt thoughts and sincere appreciation for this opportunity." Williams said. He continued, "I am excited to be part of an amazing team, to build upon the great reputation of the Brenham Fire Department, and to support our citizens. My unwavering goal is to continue to give 110% and make Brenham Fire Department a premier fire service organization that is known for innovation and efficiency in public safety."
In response to current Interim Fire Chief Rhea Cooper's time with the department, Williams stated, "We want to thank Interim Fire Chief Rhea Cooper for his leadership, time, and commitment to the Brenham Fire Department during his time here. He has set the cornerstone for us at the Brenham Fire Department to begin our journey onward and forward."
