Drought Conservation Measures
In response to the BRA Stage 3 Emergency trigger, Mayor Milton Tate has implemented the City of Brenham's Stage 1 voluntary water restrictions effective immediately. These restrictions are voluntary at this point and the City urges its residents and businesses to conserve water throughout these stressful times.
Stage 1 Response - Mild
Water Use Restrictions (Voluntary):
- Water customers are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaped areas to Sundays and Thursdays for customers with a street address ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8), and Saturdays and Wednesdays for customers with a street address ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9), and to irrigate landscapes only between the hours of midnight and 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to midnight on designated watering days.
- All operations of the City shall adhere to water use restrictions prescribed for Stage 2 of the Plan.
- Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes.

The City shall monitor water supply and/or demand conditions on a daily basis and, in accordance with the triggering criteria set forth in Section VIII of this Plan, shall determine that a water shortage condition exists and shall implement the following stages of the Plan.
