Youth Programs

 

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. Prerequisites: Minimum age of 15. Swim 300 yards continuously. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 ft, retrieve a 10 pd object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1min 40sec. Does not include LG Book.

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor

Train instructor candidates to teach water safety, including the Basic Water Rescue course, six levels of the Learn to Swim and Parent and Child Aquatics.

Babysitter Certification Course (see info flyer)

The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Certification Course teaches skills and confidence for inexperienced babysitters. Students will learn first aid, injury prevention, responsible decision making and more. Classes are limited to the first 10 participants. Fee includes class materials and lunch. This program is for boys and girls ages 11-15.

Adult Slow Pitch Softball League (Registration | Information)

This program provides adults with an organized softball league. Games are held at Linda Anderson Sports Complex. There are three seasons: Spring, Summer and Fall. Each offer a Co-Ed League that consists of a 10 game guarantee and a single elimination tournament at the end of the season. T-Shirts are provided to league and tournament champions. Games are played on Monday nights. Must be 16 years or older.

Water Works

60 minutes

Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays 10:00am - 11:00am
Come 1, 2, or 3 days a week to best fit your schedule and fitness goals.

 

Cost: $4.00/visit - 5 punch passes sold for $20.00

 

Classes offer a wide range of moderate movements to improve range of motion, balance, and coordination while strengthening and toning the body. These classes are instructed by Jane Moorhead.
