Texas is currently holding more than $2 billion in cash and other valuables waiting for the rightful owners to claim. It’s never too late to make a claim. Find out what you may have been missing by searching the State's unclaimed property database at www.ClaimItTexas.org. The City of Brenham is holding unclaimed monies as well. To see if your name is on the list, click here. If you wish to file a claim you will need to submit the proper paperwork with Jeana Bellinger, the City Secretary. If the amount is more than $100, your claim MUST be submitted to the State of Texas Comptroller's Office. You can do that online at www.window.state.tx.us or by calling 1-800-321-2274.
