The City of Brenham is a home-rule city governed by the City's Charter. The charter provides for a city Council-City Manager form of government.
The City Manager is responsible to Council for supervising the day-to-day operations of all city departments. In addition to supervising department heads, the City Manager is responsible for the annual budget; researching and making recommendations to Council' meeting with citizens to understand their needs' and providing executive leadership.

Terry Roberts has been the City
Manager of Brenham since February, 2001. Prior to coming to
Brenham, he served 10 years as the City Manager of El Campo
beginning in 1991. Terry began his career in city government in
1975 as a staff assistant in the City Manager's office in San
Marcos. Other City Manager assignments have included Diboll,
Yoakum, and Seguin. |

Assistant City Manager - Kyle DannhausKyle Dannhaus graduated from Brenham High School, Blinn College, and Texas A&M University. He has worked for the City of Brenham for the past 18 years and is currently the Assistant City Manager. Kyle and his wife Ginger have two sons, Jason and Blake. Kyle enjoys baseball, football, ranching, and spending time with his family. |

Chief Financial Officer - Carolyn D. Miller, CPA |

Carolyn is the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Brenham. She
joined the City in May 2005 and was promoted to Director of Finance
shortly thereafter. In June of 2009, she became the CFO. Her
professional career began in the private sector, and for over 25
years Carolyn enjoyed a successful career including the big four
public accounting firm of KPMG, healthcare management positions with
The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, and as corporate
controller for Kolkhorst Petroleum. |

Fire Chief - Ricky Boeker |

Ricky is a life long resident of Brenham and a 1977 graduate of Brenham
High School. He joined the Department in May of 1988 and has
advanced through the ranks to be elected Chief in 2005 by its
membership. In 2008 he became the first paid Fire Chief for the City
of Brenham. He has been an instructor for Texas A&M Municipal Fire
School since 2000 and serves as Emergency Management Coordinator for
the City of Brenham. |

Police Chief - Rex Phelps |

Rex Phelps became the head of the police department June 1, 2009. Phelps has over 20 years in law enforcement, and was the chief of police for Forest Hill in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area for two years before coming to Brenham. Chief Phelps worked in patrol, criminal investigation and narcotics before becoming a chief. He and his wife Jennifer have four children. Chief Phelps is a strong believer in listening to, and being involved in, his community. |

Director of Public Utilities - Lowell Ogle, Jr. |

Lowell Ogle, Jr. joined the City of Brenham team in 1984 in the Utility
Billing Department working as a meter reader. After 2 years, he
moved into the gas department, where he became the gas crew leader
and eventually head of the department. |

Director of Public Works - Dane Rau |

Dane Rau joined the City of Brenham in September of 2002. He is proud to serve his hometown where he was raised and attended Brenham schools. Dane graduated from Brenham High School in 1996, attended Blinn College, Howard Junior College, and Texas State University where he graduated in 2000 earning his degree in Environmental Resources and minoring in Biology. Dane first began his professional career while working for the Texas Water Development Board as a Groundwater Specialist. In September of 2002 he came back to Brenham to accept the Asst. Sanitation Supervisor's role. Dane then advanced his career by serving as the Environmental Regulatory Manager and the Asst. Director of Public Utilities from 2004-2012. In September of 2012 Dane was promoted to Public Works Director where he oversees the daily duties of four departments and 47 employees, those being Streets, Facility/Fleet Maintenance, Parks, and Sanitation. Dane's community involvement includes active memberships with Zion Lutheran Church, Keep Washington County Beautiful, Brazos Valley Council of Governments Solid Waste Advisory Committee, Texas Recreation and Parks Society and Washington County Little League. Dane and his wife, Melonie have three active boys, Kade
(8), Brady (5), and Nate (2). Dane enjoys fishing, hunting,
gardening and coaching baseball. |

Director of Development Services - Julie Fulgham |

Julie joined the City of Brenham in February of 2012 as the first ever Director of Development Services, with responsibility for development services operations including oversight of Building Permits & Inspections, GIS/Mapping, Main Street Brenham, and Planning, as well as overseeing economic development for the City. Julie also serves as staff liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustments, and Building Standards Commission. As a 2004 graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning, as well as a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Julie began her career at the City of San Angelo and was Senior Planner for the City of Bryan before joining the City. Julie is a recognized member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). |
