Quality of life is more than an expression in the City of Brenham. It is a mission we embrace. The parks and recreation facilities within our City are shining examples of a mission accomplished. Park land has always been a priority for Brenham, and in 1995 a plan was developed by City staff and community leaders to ensure that park land would always be a priority here. Since that time, the City’s park land has grown by 70 acres to a total of 150 acres of parks within the City. Our recreational facilities are first class – from the Blue Bell Aquatic Center to Hohlt Park. We offer something for everyone – baseball, volleyball, swimming, running, walking or just lazing in the sun and enjoying nature.
The city has just completed a nearly three year renovation of our flagship park - Fireman's Park. Located only blocks from downtown, this park has been home to family activities since 1884. It is home to the Flying Horses Antique Carousel, Finke Pavilion and Fireman's Field.
Each park offers something unique and they all offer the opportunity for family fun. We invite you to visit them often - a fun time is waiting to be had!
Kitchens are available for rental at Fireman's, Henderson and Jackson Street parks. The Flying Horses Antique Carousel may also be reserved for private parties. For more information, contact the Parks Reservation Desk at 979-337-7250.
