The City of Brenham buys natural gas from Millennium Midstream Energy LLC. The city has one purchase point where we receive the gas. From the purchase point the gas is directed to three regulator stations, where the gas pressure is decreased to an acceptable pressure. From the regulator stations the gas is routed throughout the city to your house or place of business.
Currently the City of Brenham provides natural gas to:
- 3,424 residential customers
- 530 commercial customers
- 4 industrial customers
Natural gas is orderless and tasteless, the City of Brenham adds an odorant to the gas so a leak can be detected. Only a small amount of odorant is needed to produce a strong odor in the gas. The odorant evaporates and mixes with the gas, which burns harmlessly when the gas is burned.
