The City of Brenham receives electricity from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) through transmission lines running to the city's two substations. In these substations electricity is down graded from 138,000kv transmissions voltage to 7200kv distribution voltage. From the substation electric lines are run throughout the city to provide service to our city limits. Electrical transformers are places on poles to down grade the distribution voltage to the customers desired secondary voltage.
