The purpose of the Office of the City Secretary is:
- To provide support, assistance and information to the City Council;
- To preserve and improve access to municipal records and historical documents;
- To safeguard the municipal election and records management processes;
- To encourage public participation in the municipal government process; and
- To provide daily assistance to all administrative departments of the City of Brenham

City Secretary - Jeana Bellinger
Jeana Bellinger has been with the City of Brenham since November, 2006 and has been Deputy City Secretary since June, 2008. She was appointed City Secretary by the City Council on Oct. 16, 2008. Prior to her position as Deputy City Secretary she was the Administrative Assistant to the City Manager.
Jeana began her career in Houston, Texas working in the specialized areas of risk management and commercial insurance. After the tragic events of 9-11, she began a career in municipal government working as Human Resources Director for the City of Waller before coming to Brenham. She is an active member of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association and is a Registered Municipal Clerk, having received her certification in August, 2009.
Jeana and her husband, Eric, reside in Hempstead and have four children and two grandchildren.
