Brenham Emergency Communications
The City Council authorzed the formation of the Brenham Emergency Communications Department on December 5, 2002. The department dispatches for all public safety agencies located within Washington County. Those agencies include the Brenham Police Department, the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Brenham Fire Department as well as 10 county fire departments, the Burton Police Department, Blinn College Police Department, Animal Control, Washington County EMS and First Responders, Texas Parks and Wildlife, county constables, Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission and the Texas Rangers. Communications also answers and dispatches all 911 calls for Washington County and all non-emergency calls for the agencies listed above. The department also answers and dispatches for City Utilities on weekends, holidays and after hours.
